When you have been practicing Martial Arts for 35 years, it is hard not to take your talent, skills, and love for the art and teach others about it for a living. This is what Philip Ameris, owner, of Cho’s Taekwondo has done. Philip had an accident on a mini bike when he was seven and broke his leg. His father, who was a professional boxer, took him to Karate school to strengthen his leg for physical therapy. Philip had a continued interest in martial arts from then on. Cho's Taekwondo's youngest student is four years old and his oldest student has a black belt at the age of 76. Philip loves teaching kids. He has to be honest with them. It is important to teach them confidence through hard work. Philip's instructor, Grandmaster Hee II Cho age 63 (ninth degree black belt), has been with him for 25 years. His family are his most dedicated students. Married 23 years to Jeanne, who won two world championships, he has two sons age 16 and 20 both holding black belts. Philip was born and raised in New Kensington. He is a graduate of Mt. St. Peter's and St. Joe's High School.
