The AIMAA Panthers program is a specially designed curriculum that aims to improve young children's basic learning and motor skills. These skills will help them to gain confidence to enter the social world with a better outlook. They will become better students at school, well behaved at home and a lot more confident in life.

The classes will also prepare them for the Tae Kwon-Do lessons that require discipline and focus, amongst others, which they will have learned through the Panther’s curriculum. The Panther's curriculum consists of the following mental and physical goals:

Discipline, focus, memory, teamwork, balance, coordination, fitness, control.

When each goal is achieved, (by means of a small testing) differently colored stars are awarded for each goal and sewn onto the sleeve of their do-buk

A special note to parents:

One of the nicest and most commendable things a parent can do for their children is to get them involved in the martial arts. Martial arts training provides many physical benefits for the student, however, the study of martial arts at a reputable school will also positively affect your child's character by developing and increasing his/her confidence, self-control, self-discipline, attention-span, focus and respect level. Tae kwon Do training also induces a child's IQ level which harnesses the character to utilize their potential and natural skills to succeed. Most children find that martial arts provides them with interests that they cannot find in other aspects of their young lives.

Martial Art training will help with the assistance of problems which may possibly arise in your child's everyday lives outside of the Tae Kwon Do school. Their training will provide them with the confidence and discipline to handle such situations as: problems with bullies, study habits, poor attitude. And even in some cases peer pressure from exposure to smoking, drinking, and/or drugs. While we are not professional counselors, nor do we profess to be, please don't hesitate to ask for help in any areas where you think a concerned outside party who has your child's attention might do some good.

Martial Arts training has empowered the weak for thousands of years. The same training that began in ancient times provides many benefits to modern life, especially for kids and teens:

»
Physical fitness: Martial Arts training develops cardiovascular fitness as well as muscular strength. Martial artists also enjoy a heightened sense of balance, as well as learning specific skills to avoid injury.
»
Discipline: The regimented environment of a martial arts school instills a deep work ethic and sense of discipline in students.
»
Individual achievement: Students progress at their own pace in martial arts schools. Rather than suffering the embarrassment of being compared with kids who are better at sports, like hitting a baseball, or shooting baskets, they train with others at their same level (e.g. belt color).
»
Camaraderie and belonging: Most martial arts schools develop an esprit de corps, a sense of brotherhood or sisterhood surrounding the school, its instructors and students.
»
Respect for self and others: The structure of martial arts training is based on mutual respect, students show respect to the instructor, to each fellow student, even upon entering the school. In addition, Martial Arts training promotes a healthy self-respect--now that your body is capable of these amazing feats, why smoke, drink, or do drugs? You can't because your martial arts progress will be hindered.
»
Mental focus: Learning to execute the complex and foreign techniques of martial arts requires extreme mental focus. Students often find this focus is applicable to academic studies as well.
»
Self-esteem: Parents and psychologists recommend martial arts for boosting a student's self-esteem. Beginners often progress rapidly in a good school able to perform techniques that seemed superhuman in a few months. This accomplishment and development ("Mom! I broke a board!") gives students pride in themselves and their abilities.
»
Security: Lastly, the martial arts provide skills for personal security. Especially for kids who are preyed upon by bullies, the ability to defend themselves allows them peace of mind. In almost all cases, they never have to use their martial arts techniques, instead, they have the courage to talk about and/or report any such cases.

Because of a child's reliance on an adult, it is crucial that the parents be as dedicated to their children's training as their children are. You must carefully examine the time commitment that the martial arts will require of not only your child, but of you - you must be ready to live up to that commitment.

The martial arts education is an extremely well-rounded program which not only improves health, stamina and flexibility, but also increases one’s mental clarity, positive attitudes and ability to focus. It also improves mind/body coordination. Understanding these sweeping benefits in your child’s development will ensure that you view your child’s martial arts education at least as equal to his/her scholastic education. Motivation may at times be lacking in a child, so keep in mind that it is the responsibility of the parents to see that the child receives the tools necessary for success in life. This may at times require your encouragement and unwavering dedication to offering a steady routine which does not cave in to the whims of the child when it comes to attending classes. Your child will be forever grateful.

Panther Classes (Ages 3-6)
The Panther’s curriculum is filled with fun and repetition. They come to the school. They run. They exercise and have fun. Before class starts, the children are shown a little affection: tying belts, looking at owee’s, and inquiring about their day. The children understand that they are in a loving and supportive environment—even when class gets strict. Classes begin with stretches and drills coordinated with the singing of the ABC’s or other tunes. As the class progresses, even the shyest of children can be seen emerging from their hesitations and joining in wi.th the kicks, blocks and punches. At this age, self-confidence is a fundamental key to a solid character development.
